Hat Yai, Southern Thailand – I am Solo In Thailand’s Dangerous South – Is Hat Yai Safe?

My own government has made a travel warning for the four most southern states in Thailand. This also includes Songkhla, in which city Hat Yai I am currently am. Is Hat Yai safe? How do the locals react to see a western traveler here? Is Thailand’s south really that dangerous? I’ve spoken with people who have been here and with people who live here before I came here and they all told me the same: Hat Yai is not more dangerous at the moment than other big cities. So, join me today in Thailand’s South here in Hat Yai, Songkhla as we explore around the city, get some Hat Yai first impressions and feel the vibe of the city. At the end of the vlog I’ll tell you if I feel safe here or not.
