Honey garden | 7 pollinator plants I’m growing next year
I share 7 pollinator plants I’m growing in my garden next year. Some of these plants are not only forage for honey bees and native pollinators, but they’re also great in homegrown teas and body care products.
1. Calendula: I’ve grown Resina, Pacific Beauty, and Strawberry Blonde. I’m adding Ball’s Improved Calendula to my garden next year.
2. Marigold: I grew Collosus Red-Gold Bicolor and will grow that again with a new-to-me Orange Flame Marigold.
3. Zinnia: The only type of grown is Peruvian Yellow. Next year I’m trying Mazurkia and Red Russian Emigres.
4. Coneflower: I have purple coneflowers that I transplanted as purchased seedlings, but Green Twister is the first coneflower I’ll ever try growing from seed.
5. Rudbeckia: Cherokee Sunset. First time for me!
6. Honeywort: Ancient flower that’s supposed to attract a lot of pollinators.
7. Borage: Love this! I’ve grown the traditional borage and next year I’m adding a rare white borage.
As far as where I get my seeds, I forgot to mention it in the video, but the main places I use are Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, and Sow True Seed.
