GECOM OBLIGATED TO DECLARE RESULTS OF RECOUNT

The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) is obligated to use the figures from the national vote recount to declare the winner of the March 02 general and regional elections, Attorney-at-law Kamal Ramkarran has said. Mr Ramkarran was an Attorney in the cases which sought to compel the Cabinet to resign and for the Government to call elections following the passage of the December 21, 2018, No Confidence motion. A tabulation of the votes from the recount show the PPP has won the elections by over 15,000 votes. Mr Ramkarran spoke with the News Room on Tuesday.
