One of the most amazing roads in Montenegro, built in a such way that freezing your breath all way long.

In 1881, Austria began construction of the road route Kotor - the Austrian border in 1881, and Josip Slade-Silovic, a civil engineer and architect from Trogir, was appointed as a designer and contractor, who later served as a designer and builder of the Montenegrin court large objects (Nikšić urban project, Zetski dom theater and the Government House in Cetinje, St. Vasilij's Church, Castle - Museum and Care Bridge in Nikšić, etc.).

The route this time foresees to overcome a significant climb along the slopes of Lovćen, from 1 to almost 1,000 meters above sea level, with the use of 25 serpentines of 180º (known as kanice), where the climb nowhere exceeds a slope higher than 8%, and the width of the road was a maximum of 5 meters, which was enough to pass the car and the first cars. In addition, the road was secured by stone cobbles and masonry parapets, and several smaller bridges were built over occasional torrential currents. On the 13th canal the so-called. "Austrian House", border and financial office at the border.

Vasilija, Dvorac – Muzej i Carev most u Nikšiću, itd).
