A Rare (Unnamed) Instrumental (by Bert Jansch & John Renbourn live in Massachusetts 1990)
A Rare (Unnamed) Instrumental — riffs on a photo taken by my sister Andrea. The soundtrack is a performance by Bert Jansch and John Renbourn of a "new"--as then unnamed--instrumental which was their encore at the Iron Horse Coffee House in Northampton, MA on 10-30-90. Bert and John each did a solo set and then did a set together. They were the founders of the legendary folk/rock/jazz group Pentangle in 1968. This may be the first recording of this instrumental --a true rarity! It later turned up on a 1992 BBC documentary on Bert called Acoustic Routes which featured Bert playing with many musicians. John and Bert played it, and the name they gave it was "First Light." Acoustic Routes is available on DVD, and some of the music from it is available on a CD, although First Light is not on it.
