A Rare (Unnamed) Instrumental (by Bert Jansch & John Renbourn live in Massachusetts 1990)

A Rare (Unnamed) Instrumental — riffs on a photo taken by my sister Andrea. The soundtrack is a performance by Bert Jansch and John Renbourn of a "new"--as then unnamed--instrumental which was their encore at the Iron Horse Coffee House in Northampton, MA on 10-30-90. Bert and John each did a solo set and then did a set together. They were the founders of the legendary folk/rock/jazz group Pentangle in 1968. This may be the first recording of this instrumental --a true rarity! It later turned up on a 1992 BBC documentary on Bert called Acoustic Routes which featured Bert playing with many musicians. John and Bert played it, and the name they gave it was "First Light." Acoustic Routes is available on DVD, and some of the music from it is available on a CD, although First Light is not on it. It is my hope that I will be able to share this wonderful performance in this video without complaint. If any rights holder or publisher complains, I will take the video down. No copyright infringement is intended; the rights to this music should be owned by the artists. If you like this music, please buy the artist's CDs/DVDs/downloads. Since I am using this music for non-commercial purposes to educate those not familiar with these wonderful musicians and to share it with those who have not heard this performance, I would hope it is considered "fair use" under Section 107 of the Copyright Act of 1976.
