Eric Burdon & the New Animals: Monterey

“On Friday April 12th 1968 at 5:30pm. LET’GO from CBC Vancouver presented a special half hour show featuring Eric Burdon and the (New) Animals (1966 -1969). The entire show was devoted to the group’s unique musical expression – utilizing sound, lights and props in their presentation. Burdon introduced his own show with a bit of the Animals old “House of the Rising Sun” before presenting his four new members Vic Briggs (guitar), John Weider (guitar), Barry Jenkins (drums) & Danny McCulloch (bass), leading to the first song “Monterey,” the band’s tribute to the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival This is Part 1 of 3 parts which will include The Black Plague, San Franciscan Nights, When I was Young and Sky Pilot, an anti-war song of the Vietnam era.
