Gallag bootleg (Galaga arcade) PCB repair pt. 1
First part of a 1982 vintage arcade PCB restoration and repair.
General inspection, substituting damaged parts, re-doing the two board interconnection ribbon cable, re-tinning the PCB edge connector, making cables and adapters for powering and testing the game.
This is a Galaga (originally made by Namco/Midway) "bootleg" clone
called "Gallag" (first version, green soldermask). This board can run the original Namco/Midway ROMs but the hardware is almost all made with 74LS logic and no custom ICs, unlike the original game PCB that used quite a few custom chips.
The board can run the original game code, but most of the clones had some minor differences in the name (often Gallag, instead of Galaga) and the copyright image.
