Going-to-the-Sun Road, USA’s Most Scenic Drive | Glacier National Park (+ hiking Logan Pass)

In October 2022, I visited Montana's Glacier National Park for the first time, and WOW!

October in the park is nearly a ghost town. All visitor centers have closed after peak summer season, the campgrounds are primitive only (no running water), and crowds are non-existent. In a brief window in early October after visitor centers have closed but before the park's roads are mostly shutdown for winter, Going-to-the-Sun Road is open for the 18-mile stretch between Saint Mary and Logan Pass, along the Continental Divide and the highest point on the road.

I enjoyed this incredible drive, and a sunset hike in Logan Pass was the perfect ending to the day.
