Descendants' The Royal Wedding: No Carlos Confirmed? + Beast Ben is BACK! 🍎 Descendants 4 News 🍎

So, on July 9th the trailer for the Royal Wedding dropped on the official Disney Descendants Youtube channel, and in this video I'm going to break down for you the most interesting details that are currently firing up the fans discussions.

Number 5 - Returning Characters
Other than the original Villain Kids and Auradon Kids, aka Mal, Evie, Jay, Ben and Audrey, in the trailer we saw glimpses of the Fairy Godmother, Uma, Hades, Beast, Belle and Dizzy. It looks like Dude and even Maleficent in lizard form are set to return. On the other hand, among the most glaring absences, we haven't seen any sign of Doug, Jane, Harry and Gil. Guess we'll have to wait for the next trailer or the Royal Wedding premiere on the 13th of August!

Number 4 - Who Will Be The Villain?
Judging by this trailer, it seems Disney wants us to think Hades and Uma reverted to their old-selves and might be once again on Team Villain. Then again, if I had to bet, I think there is a fat chance this is just a red herring, aka a misleading clue in order to suprise us in the final movie. Disney has a history of doing that, and to be honest I LOVE to be surprised, so fingers crossed!

Number 3 - A Different Style of Animation
Gathering from what we saw in the trailer, it seems the creators are going more for the route of classic Disney animation as opposed to the Wicked World animated series, which was put together using CGI. It's an interesting stylistic choice, that it gives credit to the rumors that Disney might want to move the franchise in an entire new and different direction.

Number 2 - "A Bigger Cake"
In the closing seconds of the trailer, Mal says that they need a bigger cake. This seems to be an homage to the legendary quote "we need a bigger boat" from the movie JAWS, but also an indication that they likely have unexpected new guests for the wedding. Who these new characters will be? We can speculate that probably Hades' goons, Pain and Panic, will be part of the new entries as they briefly appears in the trailer.

Number 1 - No Carlos?
It was rumored that one of the reasons they chose a cartoon style for this story was that the character of Carlos could have lived on despite the untimely passing of Cameron Boyce in real life. This doesn't seem the case, since there's no trace nor mention of Carlos in the trailer. But fear not, since in an interview on The Zach Sang Show, Sofia Carson confirmed that Carlos will be honored in The Royal Wedding.
