DESCENDANTS 4 IS HAPPENING! All the deets here!

Villain Nation, we need a drum roll here...DESCENDANTS 4 is officially happening! Aren't you excited?!! Without further ado, let's delve into the deets!

The cast and crew were announced at the D23 Disney expo a few days ago. The only confirmed cast member so far returning from the original VKs bunch is China Anne McClain as Uma, daughter of Ursula. The film will focus on two new characters - Red, the daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe, the daughter of Cinderella and Prince Charming.
During the D23 expo panel, which was hosted by China Anne McClain herself, the official plot has been revealed, too. Once again, Auradon is in danger, with a threat arriving in the middle of the celebration of a new royal baby. In order to save Auradon, Red must join forces with Chloe to travel back in time, via the White Rabbit's pocket watch, to stop an event that would lead to grave consequences.
The roles of the two new protagonists will be taken on by another couple of fellow Disney Channel stars. In fact, Kylie Cantrall from the show 'Gabby Duran & The Unsittables' will be playing Red, while ‘High School Musical’ and 'Freaky Friday' star Dara Reneè will portray Chloe. The two were briefly on stage at the Disney event, and it would be an understatement to say they were beyond excited, and the audience went wild seeing them sharing the spotlight with China! It looked like the trio had already a great chemistry, which is very promising considering the shooting of the movie will start soon - early next year according to China.
Oh, by the way, did you notice that fantastic red dress sported by Kylie Cantrall? Talking about being in character already!
Now, a few things to consider. The first is that, as of now, we don't know who will be the the new villain in this story. Will it be a returning character from the original saga? Many fans are speculating that the new royal baby mentioned in the synopsis belongs to Mal and Ben. If that's the case, can we expect once again Maleficent to be the antagonist? And will Dove Cameron be willing to come back to the franchise after she publicly said several times it wouldn't feel right to do another Descendants movie after Cameron Boyce passing?
Speaking of which, there has been a vocal part of the fanbase claiming that Disney should not make any other Descendants movie as it would be disrespectful toward the untimely passing of the young actor playing Carlos. It's definitely a sensitive topic and I can see the reasoning behind these fans point of view, but on the other hand, the Descendants universe is so big and there are so many stories to tell that you can do that in a respectful way without tarnishing the legacy of Cameron Boyce and Carlos. There's an also argument to be made that probably Cameron himself would have wanted to see the saga he contributed making famous and beloved to continue thriving and entertain Disney fans all around the world.
