Difference Between Adiyogi & Shiva :- A questioner asks Sadhguru about the difference between the Adiyogi and Shiva. Now, this is an excellent question and obviously, Sadhguru has an amazing answer to this.

However, first of all, let’s understand that right now as human beings we all have come here with the most sophisticated evolutionary system. For example, our body, our mind, our energies, then further our immune system, endocrine system, sympathetic, the parasympathetic system, endocrine system, muscular system, etc and taking into account trillions of cells and tissues which turn have become various different organs, etc functioning in perfect symphony to keep this body going is one of the best finest evolutionary systems at least on this planet among, birds, animals, and aquatic life forms.

But you see and also it is quite interesting to note that although we as humans have the most advanced system in the world still we are not able to perceive things even if we want to. For example, if we have lost something then a dog is called to look for it. Also, interestingly enough say whenever it is going to rain tomorrow or the next day the ants, birds, animals, etc will know that it is going to rain tomorrow and humans can’t tell even with the most evolved system.

Humans have invented instruments, gadgets, and other systems outside of themselves to help them out with perception. For example, the telescope can help see what is out there in the cosmos, meteorological instruments can help forecast rain, and so on and so forth. Unfortunately, the humans have not been able to use their perception to detect these things. That is why Yoga. A Yogi has a very enhanced perception and things even modern scientific instruments cannot detect can be easily detected by a Yogi with an enhanced sense of perception.

So Shi-Va means that which is not. Many many thousands and thousands of years ago a Yogi appeared on this planet which was later known as Adiyogi or the first Yogi. How did he have such a heightened sense of perception that he could also grasp Shi-Va?
