After she sustained an injury in the U.S. Marine Corps that required having multiple surgeries, Courtney found it more difficult to fit in with her peers. She began experiencing mental health challenges and drank to avoid her feelings. At VA, Courtney learned to manage stressors with treatment and outdoor activities.
