On vs Off Property - Pros and Cons - Disney World Tips

We get asked all the time is it worth the cost to stay at a Disney Resort? There have been a lot of changes recently like canceling the magic express, no fast passes and more. We are going to compare staying on or off property so you can decide which will be best for your vacation. There are some big Disney World Tips that you won't want to miss out on.

When deciding where to stay it is important to compare Disney on property vs off. In order to cover everything we have broken our video down into 6 categories. The Perks, location, cost and hidden fees, theming, Disney resort types, and our overall thoughts. We want to make sure all you first time Disney travellers get all the tips and tricks to make your trip magical.

When looking at Disney World tips and tricks in regards to resorts you want to know all the perks that the different hotels offers. This is where we have seen a lot of changes for Disney World hotels recently. Everyone can book dining 60 days in advance but if you are on Disney property you can do it for your entire trip 60 days in advance which is nice if you are going for a week there might be more availability for those high demand restaurants. If you are staying on property they have changed the extended hours and now you can get into each park 30 minutes early everyday. This is great to get on some of the more popular rides. Another factor when you are thinking about staying on Disney property vs off is the location and transportation. Clearly staying on property gets you closer to the parks and you can use disney's transportation like the monorail, buses and sky liner. Many off property hotels do offer shuttle buses but they will not always drop you off as close as Disney transportation can. Another thing you will want to check is how often your hotel runs the shuttles to disney. Some hotels run them more often than others. Another option is taking a ride share or paying for parking at the parks. Disney World resorts now charge for parking so you will want to factor that into your decision as well. It may be cheaper to stay off property and take a Lyft everyday.
