Continuous Uniform Grain Drawer Front
I wanted to make a continuous and uniform grain drawer front for my portable workbench. I cut out the rectangular walnut drawer front and framed it with red oak. Then fitted the drawer back into the bench front to maintain the uniform and continuous look.
Typically, a continuous and uniform grain drawer is done by slicing the front apart and gluing the piece back together minus the drawer pieces. This method leaves the grain of the frame ~1/8" off, so if one looked at the frame one can see the mismatched grain.
The method I decide to try, leaves the frame grain intact, and whatever space is lost to the kerf is replaced a secondary frame.
I hope you enjoy it and left me know if you have any questions.
