Silent Hill Homecoming Invisible Alex Playthrough (Full)

This is a full playthrough of the game Silent Hill Homecoming with the "Invisible Alex" backyard glitch. Much more info below.

If this video is blocked in your country I am sorry. This video had almost a dozen claims on it and it is "blocked in over 240 countries" according to Youtube. My apologies. It sucks. I'll figure out a way.

Even though I found this on the PS3 version, I've been informed by others it works on Xbox and PC as well.

How to do the glitch:

Step 1.) Start a new game with the "Classic Alex" outfit.
Step 2.) Play the game until you reach the Shepherd backyard (make sure you get the flashlight and have it turned "on". You don't need the light on but it helps because
Step 3.) Exit the shepherd backyard fence. While the loading screen is active repeatedly mash whatever button is used for the "zoom" function (for PS3 its the control stick).

IF DONE CORRECTLY:
The short cutscene after the load screen will take place, but Alex will be invisible. If you have your flashlight turned on, what you should see is a floating floating flashlight beam coming towards the camera.

IF NOT DONE CORRECTLY:
Two fail results: Either nothing is changed and Alex is visible OR the game will return to a "zoomed in camera" state where Alex is facing the opposite wall. If either of these two happen, just go back into the backyard and repeat step 3.

Step 4.) When done correctly you will be able to freely move and Alex is invisible. You can now either keep playing the game or start a new game file. The glitch will carry over to new game files. Make sure on the new game file you choose "Classic Alex" costume.

IMPORTANT WARNING
For the PS3 version, when the glitch is active do not EVER press the zoom function again. It will crash the game. I have been told the game does not crash on other platforms but I can't verify that for myself. But I do know for a fact that it can and probably will crash the PS3 version so, for sake of safety, just don't press the zoom again if you pull the glitch off.

Why this works:
There is a brief moment between the load screen and the cutscene in which you can confuse the game about whether or not the camera should be "zoomed" when the cutscene begins, and if done properly it will mistake the "zoom" for the standard view, thus erasing Alex's character model. Its that simple, really.

About other costumes:
This trick only works for the "classic Alex" outfit. If you attempt to do this with any other outfit you won't get invisibility. However you do get to look "inside" Alex's head for whatever costume you did it for (example with Bogeyman outfit you can see inside the Bogeyman helmet). But no invisibility unless Classic Alex!

Cancelling the glitch
To get rid of the glitch you'll have to reset the game. Merely quitting back to the menu doesn't cancel the glitch. You have to completely shut off the game.

Saving with the glitch
I've been brave enough to save with the glitch and it doesn't screw anything up from what I've determined. However I'd still recommend not saving with it just to be on the safe side.

What is the scope of the glitch?
It covers the entire game from Hospital gurney escape to Amnion/Ending cutscenes. However there are 8 moments in the game Alex will still make an appearance, usually because it's a cutscene that uses pre-rendered animation and not in-game models.

Alex will still make an appearance in the following 8 scenes:
1.) Intro gurney ride
2.) First half of Travis' truck ride
3.) Flashback bedroom cutscene
4.) Intro Sewer cutscene
5.) Lillian cutscene (before Hell House)
6.) Exiting Hell House
7.) Miner outfit below church
8.) Final flashback cutscenes before Amnion

Other stuff
1.) Alex can still be seen in mirrors
2.) The tarp in the attic can't be interacted with (it won't react to Alex)
