WE scandal: Trudeau, Morneau under fire in Parliament; Bloc leader hints he'll force election

Bloc Quebecois Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet signalled once more in the House of Commons on Wednesday that he would try to trigger an election this fall over a loss of confidence in the Liberal government due to numerous controversies. He said that the absence of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to take questions gave an "answer" to questions reporters asked earlier in the day on whether he might attempt to force a fall election.

Canada's Conservative Party MPs also continued their criticism of the Liberal government's handling of a controversial student grant program and the now-cancelled contract with WE that prompted an ethics investigation of both Trudeau and Finance Minister Bill Morneau.

Leader Andrew Scheer questioned Trudeau's confidence in Morneau accusing Trudeau of inventing a "policy dispute" between himself and Morneau as a pretext for the latter's ouster, and mockingly asked when Trudeau intended to put him "out of his misery."
