Before Generals Petraeus and McChrystal, there was another General that caught America's attention.
He was the Supreme Allied commander Europe of Nato during the war in Kosovo.
In 2004 he ran for the Democratic nomination for President and in 2008 he was rumoured to be on Hillary Clinton's short list for potential vice-presidents.
