Aitzaz Hasan Bangash, a 15-year-old student from Hangu, Pakistan, confronted a suicide bomber at his school on 6 January 2014.

Spotting a suspicious individual at the school gate, he acted bravely-tackling the attacker, preventing him from entering the assembly of over 2,000 students.

The bomber detonated his vest, sacrificing both their lives. Aitzaz's courageous act saved countless lives and earned him the Sitara-e-Shujaat (Star of Valour) posthumously.

The Government renamed his school as Aitzaz Hasan Shaheed High School and bestowed financial support to his family. His selflessness remains a beacon of bravery for the nation.
