Student earnings across Europe #career #students #studentlife #education #germany #uk #italy #spain

🎓 For many international students, part-time work is an important way to cover daily expenses. StudiesIn (2025) shows big differences across Europe — not only in wages but also in the hours students are allowed to work. Figures are based on average hourly wages multiplied by the maximum legal weekly hours students can work.

💰 At the top, 🇱🇮 Liechtenstein offers around €2,680/month at 20 hours. It’s a small country with high wages but limited universities, so spots are competitive.

🇮🇸 Iceland (€1,606 at 22.5h) and 🇳🇴 Norway (€1,490 at 20h) also stand out — both countries have high living costs, but earnings from student jobs can make a real difference.

🌍 Several destinations sit just above the €1,100 mark:

🇮🇪 Ireland (€1,170 at 20h) — English-speaking, with strong post-study work options.

🇬🇧 United Kingdom (€1,127 at 20h) — London is expensive, but job opportunities are broad, especially in services and retail.

🇩🇰 Denmark (€1,138 at 20h) — high wages, but students often need Danish skills for many jobs.

🇸🇪 Sweden (€1,113 at ~20h) — flexible rules, but students compete in a market with excellent English levels.

🇩🇪 Germany (€1,111 at 20h) — a top study destination with many jobs, though bureaucracy can be a hurdle.

🇪🇸 Spain (€1,111 at 30h) — easier to find roles in hospitality and tourism, though pay per hour is lower.

⚖️ In the mid-range, 🇦🇹 Austria (€975 at 20h) and 🇫🇷 France (€900 at 20h) combine good universities with affordable student life compared to other Western countries. The 🇳🇱 Netherlands (€872 at 16h) has high hourly pay, but strict hour caps and a tight housing market limit how far that income stretches.

⬇️ At the lower end, countries like 🇮🇹 Italy (€675), 🇵🇱 Poland (€549), and 🇱🇹 Lithuania (€519) offer work, but earnings won’t cover major costs. The lowest — 🇭🇺 Hungary (€364) and 🇧🇬 Bulgaria (€275) — show how student jobs can be more symbolic than substantial.
