Mixed Doubles at Boyton, Wiltshire

Some St Simon and St Martin Doubles on this little ground-floor five, filmed 20th August 2015 (the same day we went to Imber). There has been a church on this site since at least 1159; much of the building today dates from the 13th and 14th centuries, and is very finely decorated, not least thanks to the Giffard family.

The bells date from four different years and founders; the oldest is the 2nd, dating from 1681. They handle well and sound pleasant. Unusually, the bells are rung from the porch, the church being entered via the tower. And no, I have no idea why Vant was only ringing with one hand….
