DEEP SNOW

In the deep snow, and in snow banks you need to keep momentum.

In other words, if the vehicle is moving, you need too keep it moving.

Don't stop part way through the snow bank or deep snow. If you do, you're going to be doing the proverbial shovel.

And know that when there's a lot of snow on the roads, it's going to push you around a bit, so go slow and use a deft touch on the steering wheel.

THE FARTHER AWAY FROM MAIN ROADS

Most important, the farther away from main road you get , the deeper the snow.

Maintenance crew are going to plow, salt, and sand the major roads first.

In the event of a heavy snowfall, it might be a couple of days before work crews get around to plowing your street.

And for heavier, commercial vehicles, you may have to mount tire chains to get through the 'dad gum' snow.
