NXR Southwest 2018 (14:41 5k)

Nike Cross Regionals was amazing! I was probably more nervous for this race than I have ever been. You may have noticed that I haven't raced or posted a video in awhile and that is because I have been sick for the last month or so and have been trying to fix that! I ended having to take almost 2 weeks of running. It was super mentally challenging to believe I still had a chance at achieving something great with how poorly my training had gone leading up to NXR. Luckily, I had a little bit of a miracle and was feeling much better 2 days before the race. I was super stoked to be able to run with my team for the first time this year! I came in second in 14:41 after getting out kicked by Cole Sprout. The previous course record was Casey Clinger's 14:42. The Mountain Vista team came in 3rd and is waiting to see if we got the bid for NXN.

To qualify for the NXN, a team has to finish top 2 in the region which is typically a couple states wide. If your team doesn't place top 2, you have individually place top 5 or get a team bid to the race. We are hoping for that and I think the chances are good. However, our girls team took first and will be going to NXN! Congrats to everyone who raced! I always enjoy meeting new people at races, comment if you were there! I can't wait for NXN in 2 weeks!!
