Singapore Airlines SQ286 : Flying from Auckland to Singapore

Welcome to a brand new set of trip reports. In this episode, I'm flying Singapore Airlines to Singapore on their 9 years old A380-800, 9V-SKE, which is now decommissioned.

We headed to Auckland International Airport and caught a Park&Ride bus to the international terminal. Check-in commenced at Zone E and we collected our boarding passes before going through immigration and security. There, I met Brian (a friend from high school), and hanged out together before we had to part ways as he was catching his flight to Shenzhen. Our flight arrived and we boarded at Gate 16 and I settled down in Seat 73A in the upper deck of the aircraft. Afterwards, the plane pushed back and took off, looping around before heading to Singapore. Later on, lunch was served which was delicious and I watched some movies and tv shows for the rest of the flight. I wanted to have a look at the main deck but instead, I got a small tour of the aircraft from cabin crew Hank. I even had the chance to sit in the business class seat (27A) usually reserved for pilots. Many hours later, dinner was served and the plane gradually approached Singapore. A bumpy landing welcomed us into Singapore Changi International Airport and we parked at Gate B4 of Terminal 3. As we are connecting onboard another flight, we explored Changi for a while before heading to the same gate area that we arrived at. Carousel 46 was where passengers collected their luggage for this flight. I hope that you liked this first episode and are interested to see more.
