Your skills need to be monetized

I cannot emphasize it enough. Anything you currently do now can be monetized. The time I spent selling with my mum in the local markets helped me understand where to buy good quality local spices and package them professionally for busy people. I used to always have to go to the market and buy grocery in bulk. So I offered to help people looking to immigrate with packaging the foodstuffs, condiments and local spices that they would like to take with them in a way that meets airline requirements. Some of these items required extra processing and drying. I got paid to do this. And I learnt a lot from this side hustle. I had my 9 to 5 job while I was doing this. So you just have to want it enough. This episode is a challenge to push you to want more out, and turn your passion into paycheck. Before I wrote the article that was entered into the competition, I would never have anticipated that I could get that much inbound leads and interest. I did not do a good job of maximizing the influx of requests that I got at the time. Now that I look back at that time, I should have continued posting more articles about my farming experience and agribusiness pursuits. But I was and still am, an extremely shy and introverted girl with intense social anxiety. My self-esteem needed a lot of work. Do not be like me. Go for the things you know you deserve.
