Mutabbaq (in samosa leaves)

The classic Mutabbaq is made with very thin crepes, filled with egg, spring onion and garlic leaves which is baked afterwards in long pans. Usually Mutabbaq sheets are sold here in supermarkets, but this time I tried to make with samosa sheets, and instead of baking I made it on stove. The end result was too good, so I decided to share with you all. Hoping that everyone is now tired with different kind of fried samosas. Please give it a try, surely you will like it.

Ingredients:

Spring Onion (only green part) chopped 1 ½ cup
Tomatoes (cut in small cubes) 1/2 cup
Cumin powder ½ tsp
Black pepper crushed ½ tsp
Salt ½ tsp (according to taste)
Eggs 2

Method:

Take 2 samosa sheets, place those as a + sign put the filling in middle, and fold like a box patties. It will make around 12. Heat a nonstick pan, grease with a tbsp of oil, place 4 mutabbaq pieces at a time, turn down the heat, cover the pan so that the eggs inside can cook properly. Check after few minutes, when they turn golden from one side, flip it and cover again for few minutes. It is ready to serve when golden from both sides. Serve hot, with lemon and green chilies.

Other Option:
If you are being lazy and don’t want to make all those box shapes, just layer the 3,4 samosa sheets on hot greased frying pan. Pour the filling, again layer the samosa sheets. Cover and cook for few minutes, until both sides turn golden. Make sure to not leave spaces otherwise eggs can come out. Dish out and cut in square pieces. And you are good to go 😉
