Royal Berkshire Hospital Funding: Government Promise Withdrawn

During the 2019 election, the Conservatives promised 40 new hospitals. One of those was supposed to be Royal Berkshire Hospital, however, it was not mentioned in a recent Department of Health announcement.

Yesterday in Parliament, I asked for an explanation from the minister responsible. The longer the Conservatives are in power, the longer patients will wait. In Royal Berkshire Hospital, A&E is not suitable and there’s a £200 million backlog of repairs.

Labour created the NHS, and we would reform the health service to ensure it is fit for the 21st century.
