📣 Caversham Park House Update 📣 , 18/08/2022

It was a privilege to look around Caversham Park House and its grounds. The site is being redeveloped by Beechcroft Homes, with a view to providing residential care, assisted living units, and new houses on these grounds.

The estate has a huge amount of history, from its first mention in the Domesday book, to its recent role as a BBC monitoring site. I hope the different aspects of the estate's history will be preserved and be made available to the public by the developer.

Residents from Caversham Park have told me they would appreciate public access to part of this attractive site, for walking and leisure. I understand the possible constraints to this regarding proximity to the residential care home, but would like an arrangement where at least part of the 40 hectare area is publicly accessible for our community to enjoy.
