When the model 3 was unveiled in march 2016 people went crazy and was standing out in lines to preorder the vehicle and it was a instant success later Tesla went lot of problems to meet the demand and now it is the best selling vehicles in its class irrespective of electric or regular internal combustion engine.
After the huge success Tesla never tasted failure, the success streak continued with the model y and later the much awaited cybertruck.
Tesla cybertruck is not only unique but also very popular. After unveiling in November 2019, it broke the internet with its polarizing design. Back when the cybertruck was unveiled there was a lot of criticism on the design and lot and lots of criticism on the news media about the broken glass. People thought musk was making a joke after mentioned the specs people started to know the value of it. Today it’s one of most demanded electric vehicles of all time. Even though the cybertruck received mixed reviews it also had lot of attention and lots and lots of reservations. With more than 250,000 preorders in less than a week and more than 500,000 preorders in 3 months shows the demand the Cybertruck is having.
It recently crossed 650,000 preorders. At this rate it will soon cross 750,000 preorders.
Elon musk might soon plan to reveal another vehicle to disrupt the compact size vehicle market. Compact size vehicles are looking the same over the decades. When Elon Musk released the model 3 in china, He mentioned he might reveal a smaller vehicle. He added it’s not just for the Chinese market but for the worldwide wide consumption. He added he might try something radical like the cybertruck where nobody will be expecting that type of vehicle like something cool, different and something the world hasn’t seen before. At the end he added that what we are going to do. So there is definitely a compact size vehicle from Tesla.
As Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world transition to sustainable energy by creating a compact size vehicle that is affordable for the majority of the population will help Tesla mission.
In 2016, Elon Musk said that Tesla could make a $25,000 electric car in ‘about 3 years.
It’s more than safe to say that Tesla has revolutionized the market for electric vehicles. The Model 3, in particular, has shown how large the demand is for a capable, affordable electric car.
By this point, pretty much everyone has seen Elon Musk getting his groove on in China earlier this year. But he also made an important announcement: Tesla is not just setting up a Gigafactory in China as it has long promised to do, but also plans to build a design and engineering center in China to produce “an original car for worldwide consumption.”
Back in June 2018, Musk shared plans at a shareholder meeting to have a Tesla compact car in production in less than five years, presumably to compete with the Volkswagen ID.3 and the Hyundai Kona Electric. That timeline would have that new car arriving by mid-2023.
Of course, Musk promised to have fully autonomous Tesla robotaxis on the road somewhere by 2020, which seems extremely doubtful. Plus, Tesla already has the Model Y, CyberTruck, Roadster and Semi in the pipeline. This could turn out to be a situation much like those vehicles, where Tesla unveils a concept well before the vehicle is ready to enter production.
But here’s hoping this compact Tesla doesn’t spend too long waiting in the wings. If EVs are to succeed, the world needs cheaper ones — fast.
With the current pandemic around the world, we have no idea if that was postponed. Tesla may be evaluating these ideas right now.
