Farmers are the backbone of our Country. But how much do we respect and support our Backbone is the question that needed an answer?
Farmers of today face various problems, right from sowing seeds to reaching the consumers; they are fighting a huge battle to just survive. Despite the laws and government that supports them, most farmers of our country are trapped in the vicious circle of poverty and are forced to take extreme steps like suicide. In the 21st century is one the fastest developing country, the plight of farmers is still unanswered. There is still hope and this hope comes from young and promising entrepreneurs who are boldly choosing farming as a career and redefining it.
The speaker highlighted the importance of farming as a career; a career that empowers not just the individual but the country as a whole. The talk also gave the audience a sneak peek into the new and smart farming concepts that have a wide scope.
After completing BTech in chemical engineering from IIT Madras and working in a startup ecosystem for 5+ years, I have started working for a sustainable way to uplift the lives of our Indian farmers & economy!
