4K: Maryland & Pennsylvania Railfanning (HD 60fps)

Join us as we continue our brief but fantastic tour of Maryland and Pennsylvania railroads. We left off at a visit to Washington DC and pick up from there as we head to the Northeast Corridor. Trains from MARC and Amtrak, including the Acela Express, are featured racing up and down the electrified triple track between DC and Baltimore. We then head west to Point of Rocks, MD and Harper's Ferry, WV to see CSX and MARC trains winding their way through the beautiful Potomac River watershed. Included in this visit is a fast moving auto rack train led by one of CSX's "heritage fleet", the Colonel Phillip Hooper that was named in honor of a prior Vice President of the Louisville and Nashville RR. We then spend a day on the West Slope of the ex-Pennsylvania Broadway in between Altoona and Cassandra shooting the soon to be gone position light signals. Featured in this section are many of the NS SD40E helper units both pushing and leading freights and intermodals over the steep grade. Scenes are featured from the valley below Horseshoe Curve as well as at Gallitzin, Cresson, Lilly and Cassandra. While we wished we could have stayed longer to continue shooting the fabulous scenery and variety of power, it was off to Pittsburgh that night for a spectacular day of urban railroading along the Three Rivers that will be shown in our next installment from our trip.
