The Evanston Wyoming Train Show 2019 - The Roundhouse Festival

Back to the Evanston Roundhouse Train Show! A great train show in a restored Union Pacific Roundhouse and shop. One of our favorite shows!

The show attracts dealers and the public from the Denver area, Cheyenne, and mostly the Wasatch Front, Salt Lake City, Odgen, and Provo Utah. Evanston sits at the top of the Wasatch Grade, Union Pacific's most challenging grade. And the most beautiful route!

The roundhouse restoration is a project by the City of Evanston and has been an ongoing project for over a decade. Every year we look forward to seeing the progress on the roundhouse. This year the project has made huge advances, the outside of the buildings now mostly finished!

This year marked the 150 anniversary of the driving of the Golden Spike and all summer events had been taking place all over the region. Only a few months earlier the UP Big Boy and Legendary locomotive 844 were laid over here at Evanston for several days just outside the roundhouse.
