Container testing program helps people stay safe in bear country
Brute strength and a relentless urge to find food can make bears dangerous in the wilderness and in local communities.
If you leave food or other attractants in your trash bins or coolers, a grizzly bear can do a great deal of damage.
That’s where Randy Gravatt comes in -- he is working to help companies improve bear-resistant containers and educate Montanans on how to keep their belongings safe.
“We want to try and catch those visitors before they go in there and recreate and/or live in bear country so they don’t make the same mistakes that got our bears here in the first place,” said Gravatt.
