Have you ever thought about how your favorite cartoon characters would look like if they would
turn into real-life humans? Would they still be cute and cool or would look more like three-
fingered, slightly deformed, weirdly colored versions of themselves? Well, we've got the answer
for you. Disclaimer: This will definitely ruin your favorite character for you.
Number 10.) homer Simpson
All of us are familiar with the Simpsons. No family has portrayed Americans the way they have.
Simpsons are a staple of the American culture and its norms. But have you ever thought about
how the characters from this cartoon would look in real life? Well, Kiss your nightmare-less
nights goodbye. Artist Miguel Vasquez has created an image that will haunt you forever and
remind you why you shouldn’t imagine cartoon characters in real life. It’s a 3D rendering of
what he believes Homer Simpson would look like if he were a real human being. We need you to
look at each of these images so that we won't be the only witness to this horror. We don't know if
it's the bulging eyes, the forehead veins, or the cartoonish proportions of his head that upsets us
the most, or if it's just the whole thing altogether? This picture of the nightmare version of homer
Simpson was posted on twitter too and man did it shock the fans. He doesn’t even have
eyelashes. How does he even close his eyes!?
Number 9.) SpongeBob and Patrick
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea and haunts your dreams? This deeply unsettling 3D
rendering of SpongeBob. The porous fry cook may normally get up to some occasionally
naughty nonsense in the animated world, but in “real life” form he’s a complete nightmare, a
mute creature whose dry-eyed stare alone is enough to induce shudders. Can someone get him
some Visine, please? This rendering was created by the 3D artist Miguel Vasquez too, who
speed sculpted realistic versions of SquarePants and his Asteroidea pal Patrick. Now, Vasquez’s
work is really impressive and his reimagining Bikini Bottom’s most popular residents are too.
That said, could the duo be any more terrifying?! Look at SpongeBob’s ears! Those teeth lunging
down from that top lip. And those porous holes Patrick’s another story. He could at least pass for
human, a human whose beady little eyes have seen a lot of stuff. Probably a pretty good idea to
keep the kids away from this nightmare fuel. Again, Vasquez’s art is impressive, but couldn’t he
leave poor, porous SpongeBob and dumb Patrick out of this?

Number 8.) Popeye
What would Popeye look like if he were a real-life human? Probably nothing like Robin
Williams… Six-time Academy Award-winning special effects makeup artist Rick Baker
apparently decided to sculpt a real-life version of the famous cartoon sailor man. We would love
to see a horror movie trailer of Popeye using this design. He created the 3D printed sculpture on

a MakerBot Replicator 2 desktop 3D printer. The highly-detailed sculpture is based off of a
digital model of Popeye that Rick created in 2007 using ZBrush. We know that the cartoon is
from the 60s, and now that we are in the 21 st century, popeye has obviously aged a lot. The
wrinkled skin is showing he is at least 80 years old. This Popeye probably still eats a lot of
spinach though, because he looks ripped! Would you be able to beat him in an arm-wrestling
content? Because we cant.
Number 7.)The smurfs
Quite a few people find the Smurfs cute, cuddly creatures, but we’ve always found them weird.
However, we’ve never found them as weird as this Smurf depicted in this digital painting.
According to The Huffington Post, Nate Hallinan, the artist behind the painting, imagined the
Smurfs as a “symbiotic relationship” between mushrooms and creatures. The artist believes that
Smurfs put their ’embryos’ in the button of a developing mushroom. From a distance, Smurfs
seem like they are wearing a hat and pants but as you can see this is a fallacy. It’s a strange
picture, to be sure, but it does provide a very different and interesting take on the Smurfs. Still,
we wouldn’t want to see these small creatures in my backyard.
