I Tried Iraq’s 4,000 Year Old National Dish!! (Mesopotamian Marshes)
🇮🇶 Watch - Iraq Street Food Tour in Baghdad: https://youtu.be/YnmDz7NaQkU

Today we’re in the ancient Mesopotamian marshes, the largest marshlands in the Middle East. This region in Southern Iraq between the Tigris and Euphrates river is sometimes considered to be the Garden of Eden.
We’re going to meet up with local legend Abu Haider to first go shopping at the local market, then go back to his house for breakfast, and then go for one of the most amazing boat rides in the marshes.
But the real highlight is for lunch when we cook and eat masgouf, a grilled Iraqi style fish that has been prepared this same way since the ancient Sumerians, and it’s the national dish of Iraq until today.
A huge thank you Aya from https://enliltravels.com/ for arranging my trip to Iraq.
