This is a complete guide to the CARES Act and Stimulus Packages, Stimulus Checks, and Stimulus grants and loans for self-employed people, sole proprietors, S-corporation holders, LLC holders or otherwise self-employed people like 1099 contractors. Remember, a 1099-contractor like a hair-salon worker means you are SELF employed. A “1099” means “NOT employee.” This guide will walk you through the following:

1. Gathering your information. Start by downloading the spreadsheet shown in the video here: https://metkevin.com/guide Then, fill out the information so that it’s ready for you. Remember to put all of your documentation in one folder and label the documents correctly to simplify your lender’s life. The faster your lender can work, the easier your Small Business Administration (SBA) loan process will go. Every bit helps. Use the sheet to get ready.

2. Apply for the Emergency Injury Disaster Loan and Request a Grant.
$15,000 loan. $1,000 advance per employee is free / does not need to be repaid. The loan portion DOES have to be repaid. This is a 30-year amortization loan and the loan has to be repaid. You do not need to repay the EIDL Grant if you deny the loan but take the deposit.

3. Apply for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) through your state’s unemployment insurance.

4. Apply for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Very important you apply as soon as possible for this! Applications opened as of April 27th again.

5. Utilize the Employee Retention Credit (ERC). This is up to $5,000 of free money.

6. Follow the calendar provided in the video to make sure you’re not overlapping your expenses for the PPP and EIDL. It’s very important that you properly separate this expenses out and you follow the timing on the calendar - otherwise you could risk your forgivable loan not being forgiven.
