Hi guys, my name’s Eva and I’m 16. You hear about kidnappings all the time on the news, but you never think that they’ll happen to you. Well, it DID happen to me, and the scariest part was, I was kidnapped by someone I knew!

So, I never had much luck in the dating world. A lot of boys didn’t interest me because I found them all so dull. They all liked the same things⁠—sports, video games⁠—and that just bored me to tears. But then Mike came along.

I met Mike online and we hit it off immediately. He was the skater type, really adventurous and reckless, and our dates were always so much fun. One time, we climbed over a fence into someone’s farm and spent the night looking at the stars. That was where we had our first kiss. We actually got in trouble a few times, but it was so worth it.

After a few weeks, I invited Mike to my house for dinner. He came as his usual self, with baggy jeans and a leather jacket covered in patches and pins. But there was a problem. My parents absolutely hated Mike. At the dinner table, my dad constantly grilled him about his future ambitions.

Mike actually began to get really frustrated, so he just blurted out:

“Can you stop with the interrogation? You’re making things awkward for everyone.”

My dad became furious. He jumped up from the table and screamed at Mike to get out of our house. It was so embarrassing. He forced Mike out without even letting him pick up his jacket and skateboard. Then my dad made me promise to never see Mike again...

The next day, as I was walking home from school, I experienced the scariest moment of my life...
