Justin Fields | Kurt Warner Film Study | Episode 2 of 2

We saw in part one, Justin Fields has all kinds of ability. He’s athletic, he understands how to throw the football, he can make different kinds of throws…a lot of things with which I was really impressed. Here in part two, we’re taking a look at some of the things that I believe he hast to work on if he’s going to really excel and become a special player at the next level.

We’ll see in this tape, there are a number of times he gets into situations where the pressure was on him and he started just throwing the ball up to his guys and hoping that they were going to make a play. He has to be able to handle pressure and keep his cool in games where things aren’t going his way. To get better in these games where things are frustrating for him, just relax and let the game come to him…not try to do too much and try to make every single throw, because sometimes in those situations things can easily go the other direction.

In summary, Justin Fields put a lot of great play on tape, but there were times when he showed questionable processing…slower processing and some general inconsistencies…situations where I really wondered what he was seeing. I can understand why people might rank him higher than I have here. I think if he cleans up some of the questionable processing, he could definitely move up the rankings of this draft class. #2021NFLDraft #JustinFields #KurtWarner
