India will achieve 50% GER by 2035: Higher Education Secretary

Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare in the cabinet briefing on July 29 said that following the new education policy and reforms, India will achieve 50% Gross Enrolment Ratio by 2035. He further said, “As on date, we have different norms for deemed universities, central universities, for different individual standalone institutions. New Education Policy says that for reasons of quality, norms will be same for all and not as per ownership.” Cabinet has approved National Education Policy 2020.
