Jimny Woodland Camp Relaxing In The Rain

Hey everyone, finally back out camping! Just for one night but it was a lovely relaxing time in the rain. The woods have the first signs of autumn and it's the best time of year in my opinion. Hope you're safe, healthy and managing to stay positive with all the covid struggles.

If you're new to the channel I'm meant to ask you to subscribe, comment, share etc. Every video I watch asks this at the beginning, sometimes the middle and generally the end. It obviously works but I'll hold my hopes on your ability to not forget something you've been told 1000 times already. If you like the video you know what to do.

I have quite a big video update to share with various mods and new stuff I've added to the Jimny. I'm working on that video next. There's much more to come on the build ;) and of course more camping if you're into that kind of thing.

I don't expect everyone to enjoy the work I put into these videos or my style of camping. I hope that some people get a small amount of enjoyment from them. To save your time here are answers to common questions:

Q: Why don't you use a lighter?
A: It seems bother some people that I don't use a lighter. Part of the fun of camping for me is practicing different methods of lighting a fire. I do not profess to be a bushcrafter, I'm a beginner, learning as I go. I always take lighters with me, in fact I have 5 in the molle panel pouch. I rarely use them. It's no big deal, it's not a survival situation, I'm out camping for leisure to enjoy myself. I have and will do things wrong in the eyes of a more experienced person.

Q: Why are you on your own?
A: I'm on my own because I want to be. Sometimes my wife joins me but mostly it's just me.

Q: Why are you not talking?
A: I've nothing to say that's worth saying.

Q: You're {insert insult or criticism here}
A: I respect your opinion and feel free to air it. I may or may not respond depending upon how rude you are. I may hide you from the channel if you're one of those viewers who spam comment complaining on every video. Life is too short, nobody is forcing you to watch it.

Q: Why are you lighting a fire?
A: I’m camped on a commercial campsite with permission to light fires to cook food and/or for warmth in the colder months.

Q: How tall are you?
A: I'm 6 foot tall and the Jimny is big enough for our daily needs.

Q: What's a Kuksa?
A: It's a type of drinking cup traditionally duodji crafted by the Sami people of northern Scandinavia from carved birch burl. I'm not a skilled wood carver! So far I've made 2 successful kuksa. It's a great camping pastime to help relax. I'm still learning.

Q: Why don't you show more off-roading in the Jimny?
A: I don't do a lot of off-roading.The Jimny is a simple, lightweight and minimal(ish) camper set up that offers good comfort and easy access to camp (legally) off the beaten track.
