Suzuki Jimny Camp, Carve & Cook

You're only seeing brief parts of each day... a 25 minute snapshot over a few days of camping.

It is a campsite, not a wild woodland and I did not build that massive fire ring and bench seat. They were already there when I arrived. I did have to spend and hour cleaning up after some illegal campers left the campsite in a mess, but it's a great feeling cleaning up so I don't mind.

In my last camping video I started to carve a new Kuksa. Unfortunately while it was drying in my shed it cracked. I've since had some great advice from friends on Instagram to help avoid cracking in the future. Anyhow, I started a new one on this trip but didn't film the first part as it was pretty much the same as the last video.

I've been testing some new kit too. A game changer for our camping set up being the PowerOak EB150 1500wh Power Station and the Dometic CDF26 Fridge. Along with the 'Apple like' build quality of the Olight Perun Head Torch.

As we continue to refine the set up ready for longer trips, power and refrigeration are crucial to making life as easy as possible. It's holiday enjoyment and camping comfort we're aiming for with our Jimny build so while I'm obviously a kit junkie these items especially can make a big difference. Long term they are worth the investment in our eyes.

A: I’m camped on a campsite with permission to light fires to cook food or for warmth in the colder weather.

A: I'm 6 foot tall and the Jimny is big enough for our daily needs.

Q: Why do you add Japanese subtitles?
A: The Jimny is a Japanese car and I am an admirer of Japanese culture. I get a lot of viewers from Japan and am inspired and influenced by Japanese camping and bushcraft youtubers.

Q: Why are you carving a Kuksa like that?
A: I'm not a skilled wood carver. This is now my third attempt at making a Kuksa. It's a fun camping pastime to help relax. I'm still learning.

Q: Why don't you show more off roading in the Jimny?
A: The Jimny is a tool for me to get to camp in a simple, lightweight set up that offers good comfort. I don't do a lot of off-roading. There are many other channels to see what a Jimny is capable of on YouTube.
