IAES Distinguished Service Award 2022 -Surprise Event
On April 15th, 2022, the IAES Board convened a meeting giving a false purpose to one attendee in order to pull off a surprise. Jeri Gore, Editor-in-Chief of the IAES Blog and newsletter is about to get 'punked', (publicly surprised).
April 17th - April 23rd in National Volunteer Week, and we are about to honor Jeri for the outstanding work she has done in providing support, educating the worldwide Autoimmune Encephalitis Community and raising AE awareness through the outstanding articles she and her team have produced over the past year by presenting her with IAES's Distinguished Service Award for 2022.
In attendance are IAES Treasurer, Oksana Sweeney, IAES Secretary Dr. Daria Muir, IAES Member at Large Barbara Layt Vujaklija, President and founder Tabitha Orth and 2021 recipient Mari Wagner Davis. Join the fun with this special behind the scenes gathering that is sure to make you smile.
IAES is run by volunteers. No one receives financial compensation for their contributions. IAES thrives because of the love and passion each individual volunteer brings with their talents. Over the years we have been so blessed to have such gifted and caring volunteers. Past or present, each one has left an indelible mark in providing assistance and advocacy that has saved lives and left the AE community richer for their service.
IAES and the AE community at large is forever grateful for their dedication. With heartfelt thanks, we wish all volunteers past and present our most sincere gratitude for making people's AE journey a little less challenging to navigate.
Happy National Volunteer Week to you all! Congratulations to our one and only Jeri Gore!
The International Autoimmune Encephalitis Society, (IAES), is the only Family/Patient-centered organization for people with a diagnosis of Autoimmune Encephalitis. IAES provides science-based information backed by trusted medical experts in the field of autoimmune neurology and relies on the expertise of our Medical Advisory Board. We are an established non-profit organization with a history of supporting all-inclusive services from diagnosis to recovery and the many challenges experienced in that journey.
