Dyslexia | Marianne Jylha | TEDxItascaCommunityCollege
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Marianne Jylha presents how dyslexia as a learning disorder impacts the people afflicted by the condition and how specific learning methods can be utilized to heighten learning aptitude.
Marianne Jylha founded Great Minds Learning Center (non-profit) in 2011 as a place for struggling students to receive intense interventions for reading, writing and spelling. She graduated from University of Wisconsin-Superior (1991) with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education/Reading and Language Arts. Marianne is currently enrolled in the Master of Education program through St. Scholastica.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
