John Candy Interview 1986 Brian Linehan's City Lights
In this interview from 1986, John Candy talks about the 1980s comedy film Armed and Dangerous. He co-stars with actor Eugene Levy. He also discusses his career, from his beginning with Second City in Chicago to SCTV with Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin and Catherine O'Hara to his best-known 1980s films, Summer Rental with Carl Reiner, National Lampoon's Vacation, and the rave review from Pauline Kael on his performances in Splash.
He also talks about meeting Steven Spielberg who cast him in 1941, the 1979 film Lost and Found, Jim Belushi and hosting Saturday Night Live SNL, turning down the 1986 film Three Amigos and his upcoming projects, the Mel Brooks film Spaceballs and an unnamed John Hughes project.
From 1974 to 2000, Canada’s Brian Linehan conducted thousands of in-depth interviews with the greatest actors and directors from over 60 years of film history.
