In this interview from 1986, John Candy talks about the 1980s comedy film Armed and Dangerous. He co-stars with actor Eugene Levy. He also discusses his career, from his beginning with Second City in Chicago to SCTV with Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin and Catherine O'Hara to his best-known 1980s films, Summer Rental with Carl Reiner, National Lampoon's Vacation, and the rave review from Pauline Kael on his performances in Splash.

He also talks about meeting Steven Spielberg who cast him in 1941, the 1979 film Lost and Found, Jim Belushi and hosting Saturday Night Live SNL, turning down the 1986 film Three Amigos and his upcoming projects, the Mel Brooks film Spaceballs and an unnamed John Hughes project.

Brian Linehan, who passed away in 2004, left his entire estate to The Brian Linehan Charitable Foundation to provide training, work opportunities and promotion for young actors of exceptional talent. All of the income of his Foundation is donated to not-for-profit institutions for that purpose. In the decade since his death, recipients of the Foundation’s support have included extraordinary young actors affiliated with the Canadian Film Centre, The National Screen Institute of Canada, the Stratford Shakespearean Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, which, since Brian's passing, has preserved and housed Brian's personal archive and tape library.
