'Flying Scotsman' & The Tresspassers Who Ruin It ! (2019)

The final day of the prestigious Great Britain tour was marred by mass tresspassing in the Burton and Elford (Tamworth) area caused delays in excess of 60 minutes to all service trains, which will have a massive knock on effect in delay's and compensation which will be available to the normal travelling public.

Unfortunately I was witness to some of the tresspass as can be seen in this video. The two idiots who decided to stand next to the running tracks on either side of the bridge, they were caught out by an earlier train which reported them to the signalers and control. In turn all trains were to come to a standstill and then eventually proceed at caution !

The worst bit about this tresspass was that people that was involved were asked to move off the railway and behind the fence by another driver of a passenger service train and they flat out refused, so all services were told to approach the area of tresspass and come to a stand, before making sure it was safe to pull away.

It finally took the the crew of 'Flying 'Scotsman' to get them off the tracks with a few choice words and threats of arrest, they soon got the message and ran up the bank as can be seen in this video. I was debating whether to post this video, but that fact that the tresspassers in this video will once again get off without prosecution or a fine due to the lack of resources, means it's time to name and shame, especially when it put's my hobby and the chance of seeing this locomotive at risk for the future.

This can't keep happening every time this locomotive goes out on tour, as the Network Rail hierarchy could easily ban/reduce the number of appearances the 'Peoples Engine' makes, especially when it affects the rest of the network.
