Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 - London City Landmarks (UPDATED) and EGLC - Orbx vs. Default

London was one of those cities that got seriously jipped by MS and Asobo in the initial (and current as of this upload) scenery in MSFS 2020. Apart from a few landmarks like the 02 Arena and the Shard the rest were either non-existent or just a joke.

Orbx came to the supposed rescue with a very quick release of a DLC that promised to revive London to its current glory. However upon release many noted that the DLC was well below par, replacing some of the iconic buildings around London that MS and Asobo had actually done well with their inferior ones. To their credit they jumped onto this within a few days and rectified some of the most glaring issues, such as the Shard and London Bridge. There's still quite a lot of issues with the scenery in general, however I think a lot of people are expecting too much. I own a heap of Orbx scenery for XP11, and while it looks beautiful on the surface, if you dig down into the detail there is a lot to complain about, if you want to do that, however for the most part it's pretty good. Although I do think the the price of XP 11 addons (not only from Orbx) is a bit steep but that's another topic.

Personally, I think the for the price of $11AUD (for some reason the MS marketplace had it for $12AUD but direct from orbxdirect.com was 11) for this 'fixed' and probably still to be updated scenery that Orbx provides to update one of the most major cities on this planet is very reasonable, sure it's not perfect, but for me I'd much rather have this for $11AUD than the default. And even if MS release a London scenery update (like the Japan update) in the future, for $11AUD it's worth if for even a short time.

As for the $17AUD update to EGLC, well as I've said in previous videos I don't really care about airport updates as I don't bother with taxiing and all that jazz, I just land and then get the hell outta there. But on this occasion, as the airport was discounted and I was getting the surrounding scenery I thought it'd be nice to get the airport as well, and I'm glad I did, coz it just looks so much better, but it still feels funny paying $11 for the city and $17 for the airport (yes I know about the other features at the airport but as mentioned I won't use them)
