Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 - Sydney City - Orbx vs. Default

*** BEST VIEWED IN 4K IN FULL SCREEN ***

Another city totally let down by the default scenery in MSFS 2020 was Sydney. They did a beautiful Opera House with no Harbour Bridge or Centrepoint tower... I didn't get that at all.

Either way Orbx has come to the rescue with an updated scenery pack, called Sydney Cityscape. At $20AUD it's a bit pricey considering the entire game (planet) can be had at $50USD, however as Sydney is a pretty special place for me and seeing how badly it was under done in the default, I was happy to pay that $20, even if it means removing this pack when/if MS updates Sydney, and even if they do I'm sure we'll be waiting a really long time for it.

This video is not all of Sydney, it's mainly the east coast from south to north then a bit of northern Sydney heading back down across the harbour, through the city then back to Sydney Airport.

As usual, for me this scenery looks really good on the surface, I haven't had the chance to delve deep into it to find (the inevitable) flaws but I do think they missed a few important land marks, for example -
Luna Park, UNSW campus (at least the library building that has UNSW in big letters on it), Royal Randwick could have been a bit nicer, Wedding Cake Island is completely missing off Coogee beach, the Novotel at Brighton Le-Sands (you see this alot when flying into Sydney), it woulda been really cool to see something resembling Taronga Zoo. Also I'm pretty sure the pylons on the Harbour Bridge are a bit too dark. I'm sure there is much more to add but these are my initial observations

Overall though I'm happy having spent $20 for this, makes Sydney much more enjoyable and will be looking forward to using helicopters here. So I do recommend this scenery, specially if you have any connection to Sydney.

I do know there is some seriously good freeware addons for Sydney (and other parts of Australia) but I didn't get the chance to try the Sydney free updates before Orbx released this. Perhaps I'll try some freeware updates for other Australian cities before a payware release is done for them.

Looking forward to updates here and of course more Aussie cities that were completely forgotten by Microsoft/Asobo.

The audio in this recording is from MSFS 2020 default, I know the sound is the same but thought I'd point out which video was giving the sound to this video.

A few things from the video, obviously Bronte and Tamarama beach are separate beaches. I forgot to change 'beach' to 'beaches' in the caption that I was copying and pasting. Also I had to speed up the simulator while flying the Orbx scenery a few times to keep up with my default scenery recording, sorry about that. (i'll add to this as I notice more mistakes)
