FINNAIR A350XWB Business Class · 9 Hours from Helsinki to Shanghai

Welcome to a Shanghai Flyer flight review; for those who have subscribed a warm welcome back !

I was excited to be back onboard Finnair after two years and I am happy to say that my experience with them this time around is definitely a step up from my flights back in 2017. This is part of my itinerary from JFK to PVG via LHR and HEL. My flight to Shanghai was operated by an Airbus A350-900 featuring 1-2-1 reverse herringbone business class seats. Finnair’s soft product is certainly the highlight of their premium offerings as they partner up with famous Finnish brands such as ittala and Marimekko. The partnership can be seen everywhere on the flight from items as small as napkins to glassware.

The service flow on this 9 hours flight is organised while efficient. I was able to have a wine tasting with over four variety of grapes during the dinner service and still had ample time to wrap up a full night sleep before waking in the dawn of Asia.

After all, I would absolutely recommend Finnair if European carriers are your only option. With comfortable bedding, fantastic service, and state of the art fleet, I can’t think of any other improvements on this short northern route between Europe and Asia.
