Hello friends!!! Today I have a demo from a batch of demos I recorded in mid June 2026. For sound reference, these are DI demos, and I'm playing a Yamaha RGZ (alder body, 24-fret superstrat shredder, high-gain 80s humbucker). This is demo 3 of 4 with the new Ivy Pedals Metal Meteor analog metal distortion and Ivy Pedals Planet Phaser analog phaser effects pedals.

Ivy Pedals Metal Meteor is an analog, high-gain metal distortion effects pedal with two gain knobs, two tone knobs, two switches, and a volume knob. This initial run of these are designed for 9v-18v DC power and feature the vintage brown enclosure. "Metal Distortion" is actually a somewhat definable concept, where there is multiple gain stages, with two clipping sections, soft-clipping into hard-clipping, and then some sort of tone controls. The OG / Boss "Metal Pedals" usually featured Gyrator Filters (Boss Metal-Core, Arion Metal Master, etc). The Metal Meteor is made with this same basic model, though I added an extra gain control and I developed a the two novel tone/filter circuits. Tone A is a bass boost/cut at the input, Gain A is soft-clipping, Gain B is hard-clipping (Clip Switch affects this section), and Tone B is either a simple tone control (Switch in mid position), or a complex two-pole analog low-pass filter (HOT and MILD setting on the switch). I am fairly proud of this design, and I hope you find this to be an interesting effect as well.

Ivy Pedals Planet Phaser is a 4-stage analog OTA-based phase shifter effect with some familiar controls, and some novel controls as well. This phaser has the usual LFO Speed, a Regen. Switch, and a volume knob. Also here is an LFO waveform switch, either a smooth sine (up) or a more dramatic triangle wave (down). The Depth Knob also affects the frequency center in addition to toning down the LFO, and this, combined with the Phase Switch, allow for an extremely wide variety of phaser tones.

Ivy Pedals Chorus Moon, Planet Phaser, and Metal Meteor are part of the same 'series' of pedal designs, made to be a line of my "standard" effects that are all very compatible with guitars and basses and synthesizers alike.
