"Would it be possible to play music with some buckets and a pipe?
Bucket Drummer MASA introduced his concept “We can enjoy music without spending money” in this talk. He has always been interested in street performance and he began to play the bucket drum on the streets of Melbourne, Australia in February 2012. After coming back to Japan, he conducted the “journey of the bucket drum,” in which he traveled 47 prefectures by hitchhiking and playing the bucket drum in the streets. He plays music with some buckets that he got from a gas station and a pipe that he bought at a hardware store. Now, he performs on the streets throughout the country and his performance makes many people stop and listen. This year, he has begun appearing on TV and he is performing more often."

1988年生まれ。神奈川県出身。かねてより路上パフォーマンスに興味を持ち、2012年2月オーストラリアのメルボルンの路上にてバケツドラムを始める。日本に帰国してからは、ヒッチハイクで47都道府県を旅し、路上でバケツドラムパフォーマンスを行う「バケツドラムの旅」を実施。「お金がなくても音楽を楽しめる」をコンセプトとしており、ガソリンスタンドでもらったゴミのバケツとホームセンターで買ったパイプを使って演奏を行っている。現在は全国各地での路上パフォーマンスを中心に活動しており、ひとたび彼が演奏を始めれば道行く多くの人々が足を止める。今年に入ってからテレビ出演も果たし、活動の幅を広げている。
