Climbing your first 7a - FOF P2
So many climbers could climb much harder than they think!
First thing stopping them is self sabotage in the brain to stay in comfort! Starting from the Fear of falling what I covered in:
PART 1: https://youtu.be/27P4My6ItqE
Followed by "I can't" / "I'm already at my limit" - which many of climbers don't even know where their limit is, because they never REALLY tried to find one. Again staying at mental comfort.
According to climbing data collecting websites it's normal to Red Point about 2 grades harder than your Onsight level. But this also depends on your current climbing grade.

Unfortunately, many climbers stay at their "comfort" on climbing trips with a believe that "I better climb a lot of routes than waste my time on a single hard route". This usually is just a mask for "I'm afraid to fall", "I don't want to suffer and find my limits"... you name it. And very often ends up in a lot of stressful climbs on the climbing trip. Going from bolt to bolt every time it gets hard.
Train your Mind to be challenged! And when your brain is at peace with you, you can decide if you want to climb many routes or spend more time projecting something really hard! YOU will make your decisions instead of being forced to stay at low-grades all the time.
P.s. By saying HARD climb I don't mean specific grade it depends on Your personal capabilities. For many climbing 7a (5.12) and above is hard, but for some it could be easy, because they've spend a lot of time bouldering... but they will find their Hard at different grades ;)
